THE POSITION The Hennepin County Attorney's Office (HCAO) Adult Prosecution Division and Transcription Unit are seeking to fill multiple Legal Secretary positions. The HCAO serves as the chief prosecutor of all felony and juvenile crimes in Hennepin County. The HCAO is also responsible for providing legal counsel to the Board of Commissioners and all county departments, as well as representing the county government in civil lawsuits, child support matters, and child protection actions. The primary duties and responsibilities of these positions include: Transcribe and proofread with speed and accuracy question/answer statements made by defendants, victims and/or witnesses, 911 calls, jail calls, audio from body cameras, squad videos, and recorded media. Follow office and court rules and procedures. Input, retrieve, modify, and/or delete stored information in computerized systems; open, organize, and close files; copy, fax, scan, email, e-file, and distribute documents. Operate and maintain PC, software, internal databases, printers, fax, and copy machines. Communicate in person by phone and via email/instant message with office staff clearly and professionally.
